Wood Machinists

George Smith is looking for experienced Wood Machinists to join their existing team of skilled craftsmen in the Wood Mill Department.

The Wood Mill plays an integral role in the manufacture of all George Smith furniture. The team produce all the frames for the George Smith collection, as well as those of the bespoke pieces. The Wood Mill team are involved in the design and costing for all bespoke pieces.

All George Smith furniture is made by hand at the factory in Cramlington using traditional techniques and the highest quality natural materials. Many of the styles are based on original designs with new pieces evolving and being added to the catalogue on regular basis.

The current opportunities would suit those with a strong technical ability who enjoy a challenge, have a good eye for detail, take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a professional team. An interest and ability to work on the design of the bespoke pieces is not essential, although may be beneficial.

The role pays a competitive hourly rate, a minimum of 39 hours per week and a generous holiday allowance.
